Elaine Mardis, PhD

Elaine Mardis, PhD, serves as Director of the Institute for Genomic Medicine at Nationwide Children’s Hospital and is Professor of Pediatrics at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. Dr. Mardis was a key participant in development of The Cancer Genome Atlas and is an internationally recognized expert in cancer genomics. Her current research is oriented toward identifying how the cancer genome changes with treatment, including acquired resistance, use of genomics in understanding immune therapy response and how cancer molecular profiling might benefit pediatric patients. Dr. Mardis was President of the American Association for Cancer Research from 2019 to 2020, has authored more than 489 articles in peer-reviewed journals and is Editor-in-Chief of Molecular Case Studies.
