Shiteshu Shrimal, PhD
VP, Biology

Dr. Shrimal earned his MS in Biomedical Sciences from the University of New Delhi and his PhD in Life Sciences from Jawaharlal Nehru University in New Delhi focusing his research on the functional role of cell surface signaling kinases of pathogen Entamoeba histolytica, leading cause of Amoebic dysentery in humans. He carried out his postdoctoral fellowship at UMass Medical School where he focused on deciphering molecular mechanism of N-linked glycosylation and reasons behind the poor glycosylation of proteins and published his work in reputed journals like Science, Nature, Journal of Cell Biology and others. Dr. Shrimal also reported two new rare congenital disorders of glycosylation (CDG) in collaborative work and was promoted to a Research Instructor. Dr. Shrimal is an innovative biochemist, RNA expert and protein engineer with research focused on characterizing mRNAs/proteins and developing assays to understand molecular mechanism of biological processes. With more than 20 years of experience, Dr. Shrimal expertise and forward thinking are a driving force of Innovac’s therapeutic pipeline.
